"The Morning Breaks"

"The Morning Breaks"

A painting of the morning sunrise on Mount Timpanogos looking up from the Jordan River bottoms in Draper, Utah.  The eye is drawn to the Draper River View Stake Center chapel. The scene captures the chapel on a hill prior to all the development that now surrounds it.  The painting is symbolic of the words to a song, on page 1 of the LDS hymnal. "The morning breaks, the shadows flee, Lo, Zion's standard is unfurled! The dawning of a brighter day...”

 “Peach Harvest" – Psalms 31:31

This painting captures the work, contentment and joy of a late summer harvest of peaches.  The sweet fruit of a long awaited harvest will soon be shared. This reminds one of Psalms 31:31 “Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her...“

"Arlene"

"Arlene"

A tribute to Arlene that epitomizes the many good Mothers of the world.  This oil on canvas painting captures a tender early morning breakfast of pancakes being made by a Mother (Arlene) for her adult children.  She is fresh from the shower and dressed in her favorite robe.  At the time of the painting she was in the last stages of cancer and wanted to feed her children without concern of pain or fear of her future difficulties.  You can see the joy of having her family together just one more time to feed them with the efforts of her hands.  She spent a lifetime nurturing her children and never tired of the labor of love.

"Crescent View"

This large painting captures the Jordan River valley looking from the Crescent hillside west toward the Jordan River Temple.  This is how the valley appeared prior to the industrial development that filled the river valley with office buildings and road ways.  The view of a calmer time, a quieter day, with hope and holiness in the distance.
